Thompson Receives Award of Excellence

Toombs County High School Senior Miles Thompson received the Award of Excellence from the Georgia Department of Education. The Award of Excellence is given to one senior in each congressional district who has had outstanding academic, employment, and/or extracurricular accomplishments. Miles was nominated for his hard work, perseverance, and excellent work ethic. A certificate of excellence was given by State School Superintendent Richard Woods. Miles is the son of Matthew and Starr Thompson and the grandson of Stanley and Brenda Holland and Raymond and Cindy Carroll.

An honor graduate of TCHS, Miles plans to go straight into the workforce and obtain employment with Georgia Power. He plans to further his education at Southeastern Technical College and obtain a Commercial Truck Driving License (CDL).
