Bassett Signs Scholarship

Treutlen County High School Lady Viking Gracie Bassett recently signed her letter of intent for a scholarship to play soccer for the Fire Ants of the University of South Carolina- Sumter.

Bassett said, “I picked USC-Sumter because I wanted to go somewhere that was not too far away from home and I needed a new viewpoint on life and meet new people.. They are rebuilding the program there and it is a mixture of different cultures and I really like that. I want to thank Coach Brinson and the Class of 2022 for all of their support.”

Treutlen Head Coach Davis Brinson stated, “Gracie has done a great job for us here at Treutlen. First of all, she is a top notch student and got the job done in the classroom. She was a very versatile player and I could put her on the field in just about any position. She missed her junior year with an injury and came back to help lead the team to the state playoffs. I am very proud of her and it is a great opportunity for her and I can't wait to go see her play at the college level.”
