Brantley, when they were struck by a vehicle traveling north on South Old River Road at 3 p.m. on Sunday. The boys were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Georgia State Patrol is continuing to investigate this accident.

McCarty was a student athlete at Jeff Davis Middle School, which released a statement about the pupil. “Cameron was a great student athlete who exemplified what it meant to be a Yellow Jacket,” the statement read. “He will be greatly missed and the impact he had on others will never be forgotten.
