Suspect Sought In Armed Robbery

The Vidalia Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Saturday morning at the Food Mart on McIntosh Street. Police responded to the incident at 402 McIntosh Street at 12:05 a.m. Upon arrival, officers interviewed the store’s clerk, who explained that an unknown male, dressed in all black except for a white facial covering, entered the store, jumped over the counter, and attacked the clerk while demanding money. Once the clerk obliged and the suspect received the money, he fled on foot from the scene. No arrests have been made in the case, and police are requesting the public’s help for information.
