Wheeler Picks Up A Win
The Wheeler County High School Bulldog softball team picked up a win over Montgomery County on Tuesday of last week, but fell to the Red Devils of Hawkinsville on Thursday on the road.

Wheeler got the scoring started in the top of the first inning as they picked up two runs. MCHS answered with one run in the bottom of the first inning to close the lead to 2-1.
Wheeler added one run in each of the third, fourth, and fifth innings as they extended their lead to 5-1. Montgomery plated two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to make it 5-3, but that was all that the Eagles could score as they Bulldogs got the 5-3 win.
Wheeler was led by Anna Beth Ethredge with 2 RBI's while Celei Brown added 1 RBI. vs. Hawkinsville
This was a tough game for the Bulldogs. The Devils plated four runs in the bottom of the first inning to take the early lead. They added one more in the third inning and then two in the fourth to push their lead to 7-0. One more run in the sixth inning gave Hawkinsille an 8-0 win over Wheeler.
This week the Bulldogs were at Claxton on Monday and at Trinity Christian on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Thursday when they host the Vikings of Treutlen County.
