Brewton-Parker Volleyball Falls To William Carey

The Brewton-Parker College volleyball program opened Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) play with a matchup against William Carey on Friday night. The Lady Barons (0-8) dropped the match in straight sets to the Crusaders (13-0).
William Carey took control early opening the first set with a commanding 11-0 lead before securing the 25-7 set victory. The Lady Barons had a hard time slowing down WCU as they managed to move out to an early 11-3 lead before defeating BPC 25-13 in set two. Brewton-Parker was able to go back and forth to start the third set, but the Crusaders took command, eventually taking the set 25-10 to win the match in straight sets.
WCU produced 43 kills while BPC recorded just 11. The Crusaders also notched 10 aces in the match. As a team, WCU recorded a .434 hitting percentage versus BPC’s -.015 percentage.
Kinsley Jordan led the Lady Barons with four kills. Jala Merriweather notched three block assists, followed by Kaitlin Reynolds with two. Reynolds also produced eight assists and five digs to lead the Lady Barons.
