Neither team scored in the second or third innings, but in the bottom of the fourth Appling was threatening with two runners on base. VHS again got out of the inning without allowing a run. Both teams went scoreless in the fifth inning, and the Indians were shut down in the top of the sixth inning. VHS held in the sixth, but couldn't come up with anything in the top of the seventh inning. In the bottom of the seventh Appling had a lead off single, but the Indians defense and Harris held them scoreless, sending the game to extra innings.

In the top of the eighth inning a double by Laylah Brantley, and then a bunt single by Madison Starr put runners at the corners for the Indians. Appling struck out the next two batters, but Humphrey walked to load the bases. A strikeout ended the threat.

VHS held in the bottom of the eighth inning. Neither team scored in the ninth, sending the game to the 10th inning. In the top of the 10th Brantley started on second base, and Starr reached base to put two runners on. Brantley came in to score on a groundout by Wright to put VHS on top 1-0. In the bottom of the 10th Appling started with a runner on second and with one out got a single to put runners at the corners. They took second to put both runners in scoring position. With two outs the Pirates got double to right field that scored two runs and gave them the 2-1 win over the Indians. VHS is now 14-10-1 on the year, and they are 8-5 in Region play. VHS played a double header with Brantley County on Tuesday after presstime to decide #2 and #3 in the Region. They will wrap up the regular season at Jeff Davis on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
