Vidalia Suffers First Loss

Th Vidlaia High School football team traveled to take on the Warriors of Tattnall County last Thursday night. It was a low scoring battle that saw VHS fall to Tattnall. It was a big second quarter that gave the Warriors the win last Thursday. The Warriors put the first points on the board on a rushing tourchdown with just under nine minutes to go in the first half of the game. They tacked on the extra point to take a 7-0 lead over the Indians. Later in the second quarter the Indians turned the ball over on an interception, but the VHS defense stepped up and forced Tattnall to punt the ball away.

Tattnall managed to add another score with less than a minute to go in the first half of the game. They went in on a rushing touchdown to make the score 13-0. They missed the extra point.

In the third quarter VHS got on the board when Ahmelion Jones went in for the score from four yards out. Adam Crutchfield added the extra point to close the lead to 13-7.

In the fourth quarter of the game the two teams exchanged several punts, but neither team could find the end zone as the Indians fell 13-7 to the Warrriors.

Antonio Barron led VHS with 125 yards rushing on the night.

The loss is the first of the season as they are now 5-1 on the year and 1-1 in Region play. This week the Indians will host the Blue Herons of Brantley County with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
