Treutlen Falls To Telfair
The Vikings football team of Treutlen County High School closed out the year as they hosted the Trojans of Telfair County last Friday night. Telfair ran away with the win as the Vikings finished the season with a record of 0-10. Telfair took the lead in the first quarter with two touchdowns to hold a 14-0 lead heading to the second. Treutlen got on the board next on a rushing touchdown early in the second quarter to close the lead to 14-6.
Just a few minutes later the Trojans were in the end zone again on a rushing touchdown. That increased their lead to 21-6. Telfair pushed the lead to 27-6 with less than six minutes to go in the first half, and then with less than two minutes on the clock, made it 34-6. The Vikings added another touchdown with less than a minute left in the half on a 2-yard run. They added the twopoint conversion to make the score 34-14.
But the Trojans answered on a 40-yard run with just seconds to play as they took a 41-14 lead into halftime.
In the second half of the game the Vikings picked up one more score, but Telfair rolled to a 62-22 win over Treutlen.
