Christmas Cantata—
Lyons First United Methodist Church,126 E. Wesley Ave., Lyons, will present their Christmas Cantata, 'JOY,' on Sunday, December 18, at 5:00 p.m. There will be refreshments in the social hall after the cantata.
Everyone is invited to attend.
Christmas Lights—
Towns Bluff Park and Heritage Center in Hazlehurst will have “Lights on the River,” a festive walk or drive through Christmas light display along the banks of the Altamaha, from November 26 to December 31, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. each evening.
Everyone is invited to attend, and they ask for a donation of canned food items to benefit the community food bank.
Christmas Services—
The Episcopal Church of the Annunciation, 1512 Meadows Lane, Vidalia, will have Christmas Eve Candlelight Services on December 24. The Youth Christmas Pageant will be held at 4:00 p.m., with Holy Eucharist Rite at 6:30 p.m. Reception will follow each service.
Christmas Day Service on Sunday, December 25, at 10:30 a.m. There will be no 8:00 a.m. service.
Sunday, January 1, 2023, The King's College Festival of Carols at 10:30 a.m. No 8:00 a.m. service and no Eucharist at 10:30 a.m.
MLK Parade—
The Annual MLK Parade will be held on January 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. The Grand Marshall will be Wilson Johnson. For more information, contact Michael Johnson at 478-494-8253.
Legislative Luncheon—
State Rep. Leesa Hagan and State Sen. Blake Tillery are confirmed speakers for the Greater Vidalia Chamber’s annual legislative luncheon to be held Thursday, January 5, 1:30 p.m., at Lyons First Baptist Church.
