Jayon Coleman led the way with 20 points while Jacaree Washington followed up with 19 points including a huge three pointer down the stretch.
Girls vs. Pierce
It was a close game in the first quarter with VHS holding an 11-10 lead at the buzzer. In the second qaurter the Lady Indians pulled away to a 26-17 lead.
They continued to pour it on in the third to hold a 49-23 lead going to the fourth. The Lady Indians got the win 60-44 over the Lady Bears.
Boys vs. Pierce
The Indians made the road trip to Blackshear on Friday night where they took down the Bears by the score of 51-46. Jacaree Washington led the way for the Indians with 16 points. The Bears made it close in second half, but the Indians got some big minutes from Jayon Coleman, Alton Boles, and Peyton Corbett.
Girls vs. Montgomery
In the girls game against the Lady Eagles, MCHS pulled out the win. It was tied early at 9-9, but early in the second quarter the Eagles were on top 20-17. They increased that lead to 2417 and then were up 2921 late in the first half.
Late in the third quarter the Lady Indians came back to tie the game at 45-45, but MCHS pulled away again as the game was winding down to take a 63-53 win. Boys vs. Montgomery
The boys held MCHS to just 29 points with great defensive play on the way to a win. VHS got the victory by the score of 48- 29.
This week VHS will host Long County on Thursday night at 6:00 p.m.
