Body Found In Lyons Over Weekend
The Lyons Police Department (LPD) is investigating a situation after local children discovered human remains while playing in a wooded area on Saturday.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was contacted to investigate a crime scene after LPD officers responded to the report of a body being found in a wooded area along Highway 280 at around 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Though awaiting confirmation of identity and cause of death by a medical examiner, LPD Chief Wesley Walker said that the Department believes the remains belong to David Adaway, 78, who was reported missing by his family after leaving his residence at 5:30 a.m. on June 2, 2021, and never returning.
Foul play is not suspected, and the investigation is still ongoing.
