RTCA Seniors Speak at Chapel

RTCA Seniors Speak at Chapel
FIRST DAY BACK — Wheeler County’s Mrs. Browning, Ms. Collins, and Mrs. Phillips’ class began the first day back at school learning why we celebrate New Year's Day. Students listened to a read aloud and then watched a video of how other countries celebrate New Year's Eve. After the lesson, each student set a goal they would like to accomplish this new year by using visuals. L to R: Trinity Dix, Gunner Calhoun, Beau Conner, and Tyrus Herrington. Robert Toombs Christian Academy's Seniors have been working on group presentations in their Apologetics Class. Each group chose a topic from a list given by the teacher and were to do research on the topic and present these to their classmates. The seniors did such an incredible job that Mr. Cody Sellers, Apologetics Class teacher, wanted them to share them with everyone at Chapel.

One senior from each group shared those presentations with the Middle School and High School student body during Chapel on Wednesday, January 11. Senior Bradlan Mc-Donald was nominated to read his group's response to the question, 'How do I know that the Bible is true?' Senior Hanna Nichols' group's topic was to explain the problem of evil in a world controlled by God. Senior JaShaun Powell spoke about why religion has done more good than harm in the world. Senior Sebastian Holmes concluded the Chapel service with his group's response to 'How could a loving God send someone to Hell?'

'These students are considering deep ideas about faith that they will continue to encounter throughout their lives. But they are also developing critical thinking and communication skills. It is very exciting to see their progress in class and not be afraid to share this with the student body at Chapel,' says Apologetics teacher Sellers.
