TCHS Defeats Brantley
The Toombs County High School Bulldogs soccer teams matched up with Pierce County and Branley County last week. Toombs played both sets of games on the road, dropping both to Pierce and winning both over Brantley.
Girls vs. Pierce
It was only the second loss of the season for the Lady Bulldogs, and the first Region loss. Toombs could not get the offense going against the Lady Bears. Pierce rolled to a 7-0 win over Toombs.
Boys vs. Pierce
The boys kept their matchup with the Bears close. Pierce had one goal in the first half of the game to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. They added one more in the second half, and kept Toombs out of the net to take the 2-0 win over the Bulldogs.
Girls vs. Brantley
The Lady Bulldogs had no problems with the Lady Herons of Brantley County on Friday in Nahunta. Toombs won the game easily, 7-0. The win moves the Lady Bulldogs to 4-2-1 on the year and 3-1 in Region play.
Boys vs. Brantley
It was a similar outcome for the boys over the Herons. Toombs put seven goals on the board in the first half of the game, and then added three more in the second half to win, 100, over Brantley.
The TCHS boys are 4-3 on the season and are 1-3 in the Region.
This week Toombs hosted Savannah Arts on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Friday when they travel to face rival Vidalia. The girls game will be at 5:00 p.m. with the boys to follow.
