Quotes for our Times:
Katie Pavlich, Editor of Townhall.com: Wray confirms what Biden won't: Odds are COVID came from a lab.
[FBI Director Christopher] Wray's statement comes after the FBI previously concluded through intelligence gathering the pandemic was caused by a lab leak, not by a naturally occurring jump of the virus from animals to humans. Over the weekend the Energy Department came to the same conclusion, bolstering the FBI's finding and first reported by the Wall Street Journal.
Leah Barkoukis, online features editor at Townhall.com: China gives Musk a warning.
Following the Department of Energy’s report concluding that a lab leak was likely the cause of the pandemic, Musk responded to a Twitter user who criticized Dr. Anthony Fauci.
While Beijing did not directly respond through official channels, the CCP-controlled Global Mail denounced Musk as a right-wing extremist in a social media post and issued a warning, which likely referenced his Tesla factory in Shanghai.
The Global Times cautioned Musk against 'breaking the pot of China,' an expression similar to 'bite the hand that feeds you,' according to CNBC’s Eunice Yoon.
Brian Flood, media reporter for Fox News Digital: Credibility crisis: New York Times helped mislead America over COVID lab leak theory.
Now that the Energy Department and Wray have given the left no other choice but to break from the mainstream narrative, the media's already floundering reliability has taken another blow. Conservative strategist Chris Barron believes the media created the credibility crisis simply because it didn’t like President Trump.
'During the Trump administration the legacy media abandoned any pretext of objective journalism. Every single issue we confronted as a country they looked at as an opportunity to score political points and hurt President Trump,' Barron told Fox News Digital. 'They prioritized petty partisan politics over protecting the health and welfare of the American people — a shameful and unforgivable sin.'
Liz Peek, Fox News contributor and political commentator: Credibility crisis: This is the price China must pay for unleashing COVID on the world.
… It is time. For over a decade the free world, in thrall to the economic opportunities of a growing China, has looked the other way as Beijing has allowed rampant cyberattacks, stolen billions of dollars in patents and know-how, lied about its military ambitions in the South China Sea and elsewhere, and cheated on international rules and standards. …
No one has ever accused China of intentionally unleashing COVID-19 upon the world; the leak, nearly everyone agrees, was likely an accident. But, the evidence will likely show that China almost certainly perpetrated an unforgivably costly and deadly act against the world, and lied about it. Are we prepared to punish them for it?
