This year marks the 16th annual Georgia Baptist Health Care Ministry Foundation’s (GBHCMF) Grant Award Luncheon. This luncheon allows GBHCMF’s Board the opportunity to recognize those ministries throughout the state that have demonstrated effective and efficient direct health care services to local communities. This year the Foundation awarded Brewton-Parker College (BPC) a grant of $100,000 to support its School of Nursing.

BPC is providing opportunities to those who have been receiving nursing training and are helping to meet the acute shortage of nurses. These opportunities demonstrate ways that BPC is giving back to the community to fulfill one of the college’s core values, servant leadership. BPC’s program provides additional capacity to train qualified applicants to meet the need for nurses in the surrounding area.

GBHCMF believes that BPC’s ministry has demonstrated an active service that aligns with the GBHCMF’s core mission to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ through the provision of direct health care services. For more than 100 years, the Georgia Baptist Health Care Ministry has offered a ministry of healing to those in need. Providing grant funds to these nonprofit health care providers fulfills GBHCMF’s mission of service through local organizations.

Organizations receiving the GBHCMF award represent some of the most efficient “hands-on” providers of health care services in the state. They have also demonstrated excellent core competency service to those in need of health care. It is GBHCMF’s hope that these funds will help lighten the burden of those who offer health care services as well as those who ultimately receive those benefits.

BPC is the only accredited four-year Christian college south of Macon and north of Jacksonville, Florida. As a comprehensive Georgia Baptist institution, BPC provides liberal arts and professional programs in a learning community of shared Christian values. Through the application of Biblical truth in scholarship and a co-curricular focus on character, servant leadership, and cultural engagement, the college strives to provide a transformational experience that equips the whole student for lifelong learning and service in Christ.
