TCHS Students Perform in District Honor Jazz Band
Two students from Toombs County High School were selected to perform in the District Honor Jazz Band for the Georgia Music Educators Association. The group represented 15 counties in southeast Georgia. Jeremy Kramer and Jamison Gates sent in the required audition material and were accepted into the group. They performed on February 10 at Islands High School in Savannah in the evening after a long day of rehearsals. They played Jazz Standards and original music composed by retired Savannah area band director Bruce Spradley. They also rehearsed under the direction of Savannah Christian band director Anthony Broadnax. Toombs County band director Noah Bullard states, 'I'm extremely proud of these students' dedication to practicing their instruments, and learning about various musical styles such as Jazz. They represented our school and community well.'
