Eagles Drop 3 To Jenkins
The Montgomery County High School Eagles baseball team took on Jenkins County last week in a three-game Region series. The Eagles dropped all three games as they fell to 3-17 on the year and 0-9 in Region play.
Game 1
Th Eagles kept it close in the first game of the series on Tuesday in Millen. MCHS held Jenkins to just five runs, but only scored four runs as they lost the game 5-4.
Game 2
They played a double header on Wednesday of last week with Jenkins taking both games. In the first game the War Eagles scored twice in the top of the first inning, with MCHS answering with one run in the bottom of the inning.
But from there it was all Jenkins as they scored two in the second and five in the third to lead 9-0. They added one more in the fourth and then six in the fifth to win the game 16-1.
Game 3
In this game Jenkins jumped out with five runs in the top of the first inning and put another on the board in the second to lead 6-0. MCHS did manage two runs in the bottom of the second, but seven more from Jenkins in the top of the third inning put them ahead 132.
Jenkins closed it out in the fourth with six runs to win the game 19-2.
This week MCHS takes on ECI for a threegame series. They played the first game on Tuesday after presstime. They will play a double header on Thursday in Twin City starting at 4:00 p.m.
