Lady Bulldogs Into Elite 8

On Wednesday of last week the Toombs County High School Lady Soccer Dogs made history, with a 2-0 win over Jeff Davis, which advances them to the Elite 8 in the GHSA State AA Tournament. This marks the first time the girls program has ever made it to the Elite 8.

The match was tied 0-0 at halftime, but goals by Emerson Powell and Anyadi Colmenares in the second half, along with a great effort by the defense to pitch their second straight shutout, led to a convincing win over a good Jeff Davis team.

The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Mt. Paran Christian on Monday of this week for the Elite 8 matchup after presstime.
