RTCA Falls In Final 4
The Robert Toombs Christian Academy Crusaders baseball team fell in the Final 4 last week to the Jaguars of Thomas Jefferson Academy on the road in Louisville. They played the first game of the bestof- three series on Friday and then came back on Saturday for Game 2 with TJ taking both contests.
Game 1
On Friday it was all Jaguars. They took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. RTCA scored their only run of the game in the top of the second inning with Hayden Kight picking up the RBI.
Thomas Jefferson added four more runs in the fourth inning, and then one more in each of the fifth and sixth innings to take an 8-1 lead.
RTCA did get a ground rule double by Rayce Sharpe in the top of the sixth inning, but he was stranded at third base. In the seventh RTCA did not get anything going and fell 8-1 to the Jaguars. The only two other hits in the game for RTCA came from Britton Tabor and TJ Stanley.
Game 2 In the second game of the series, TJ jumped out with five runs in the top of the first inning to take the early lead over RTCA.
The Crusaders did score two runs in the bottom of the third inning with Dawson Pinkard driving in one of those. The only hit in the game for RTCA came from Stanley.
TJ added two more in the fifth inning on the way to a 7-2 win over the Crusaders. RTCA finished the year with a record of 1110.
