The City of Vidalia has begun the search for a new city clerk after Amy Murray has resigned from the position for the second time.
Earlier this year, Murray submitted her resignation to the city administration and explained that she planned to stay with the City until the completion of the annual Vidalia Onion Festival in April, however, she later rescinded her resignation. Last week, Murray, who has worked as the City Clerk since 2020, submitted another resignation from her position, citing her desire for more time with her family as the basis for the decision. According to City Manager Nick Overstreet, the exact date the resignation is finalized is still being determined by city officials.
