Mr. Ritchie Williamson

Mr. Ritchie P. Williamson, age 70, of Oak Park, died on Saturday, June 23, 2023, at Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation in Lyons, following an extended illness.

Mr. Williamson was born in Toombs County, attended school in Oak Park and Swainsboro and was a 1971 graduate of Swainsboro High School. He graduated from East Georgia Junior College with an AA degree and later completed his B.A degree from Georgia Southern. He was a P.E. teacher at Collins Elementary School and also served a term as a councilman for the City of Oak Park. He was preceded in death by his parents, R.L. and Rose Ella; his grandparents, Arthur and Dessie Williamson and Lillie and Rufus Williamson; and several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include 1 brother, Eddie Williamson of Oak Park; and several cousins and extended family.

Private graveside services will be held at Pendleton Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Cason officiating.

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors in Swainsboro is in charge of arrangements.
