Brantley Signs With Barons

Toombs County High School standout Centerfielder, Dawson Brantley, has inked a baseball scholarship with Brewton-Parker College. Showcasing his versatility during his high school career, Brantley handled positions from shortstop to second base, and even outfield, exhibiting a commendable commitment to the game.
His performance at the plate has been equally impressive. Brantley maintained a steady stats, with a .333 batting average and a .400 on-base percentage in 2021, a .297 average with .369 on-base percentage in 2022, and a .267 average and .372 on-base percentage in 2023. This consistent ability to be on base gave the Bulldogs a competitive edge, and we expect this trend to continue at Brewton- Parker.
Off the field, Brantley’s representation of Toombs County High School was exemplary, demonstrating good sportsmanship and academic excellence. Head Coach Derek James voiced his support, stating, “I’m glad Dawson is getting this opportunity. He has put in a lot of work through the years and was always a good teammate.”
As Brantley transitions to Brewton-Parker College’s baseball team, he brings with him a record of commitment and talent. The college’s athletics program, celebrated for its success, will surely gain from his addition. We look forward to watching Brantley’s continued growth and success as he steps into his collegiate baseball career.
