The Vidalia Board of Education held a called meeting on Wednesday, July 26, to approve some last-minute personnel changes prior to the start of the 2023-2024 school year.
Resignations were accepted for J.R. Trippe Middle School Special Education Paraprofessional Brandy Messex, JROTC Instructor Jimmy Thomas, and Sally D. Meadows Elementary School Paraprofessional Heather Wood.
Brad Adams, Robin Adams, and Sharon Hodge were all hired by the school system as Comprehensive Coordinated Early Intervening Services Instructors. According to the Georgia Department of Education, these instructors will assist students in grades 3-12 who are not currently identified as needing special education or related services, but who need additional academic and behavioral support to succeed in a general education environment.
Dr. Tina Anderson was hired at 50% by the school system as a reading specialist, as she will help in the district’s goal of improving students’ literacy rates.
