MCHS Drops Two Games

The Lady Eagles softball team of Montgomery County High School picked up a win over Treutlen on Monday of last week, but then fell to East Laurens and to Dublin on Wednesday and Thursday. MCHS is now 3-2 on the year. vs. Treutlen

It was all MCHS as they rolled to a four inning, run rule win over the Lady Vikings. Treutlen did get on the board first with a run in the top of the first inning, but MCHS bounced back in the bottom half of the frame with 10 runs to jump out to a big lead.

In the second inning MCHS added three more runs, and then capped off the win with a run in the bottom of the third inning to take a 14-1 lead. MCHS held in the top of the fourth inning to secure the win by the run rule. vs. E. Laurens

MCHS took their first loss of the season on Wednesday at home against the Lady Falcons of East Laurens. The Falcons scored first with two runs in the top of the second inning, but MCHS picked up a run in the bottom half to close it to 2-1.

But in the top of the third inning East Laurens added six more runs and then scored one more in the fifth inning as they took the win, 9-1, over MCHS. vs. Dublin

It was a high scoring game against the Lady Irish on Thursday. Dublin picked up two runs in the top of the first inning, but MCHS came out and plated nine in the bottom of the first to take what appeared to be a commanding lead, 9-2.

Dublin added three runs in the second, but MCHS answered with two more as they held a 11-5 lead. But MCHS did not score again in the game. Dublin picked up three runs in the fourth to close it to 11-8, and then they scored one in the fifth to make it 11-9.

Dublin took the lead in the top of the sixth inning with four runs, giving them the advantage, 13-11. Dublin added one more in the seventh inning on the way to a 1411 win over MCHS.

This week MCHS was at Telfair on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Thursday at Washington County at 5:30 p.m.
