RTCA Softball Splits Games
The Robert Toombs Christian Academy softball team played two games last week, splitting the contests. RTCA picked up a win over Brentwood Academy on Monday of last week, but dropped their game against Bulloch Academy on Thursday. vs. Brentwood
RTCA got a big game at the plate from Maddie Joyner, who drove in four runs. Meredith Durden added a home run in the game for RTCA. Durden also got the win in the circle for RTCA.
RTCA took the lead with four runs in the bottom of the third inning, and then added two more in the fourth inning to lead Brentwood, 6-0. Brentwood picked up three runs in the top of the fifth inning, but RTCA answered with three more in the bottom of the frame to lead 9-3.
Brentwood made it a game with five more runs in the top of the sixth inning to close the lead to 9-8, and then they tied the game at 9-9 in the top of the seventh inning.
RTCA pulled together in the bottom of that final inning and plated a run to win the game, 10-9. vs. Bulloch
RTCA didn't fare as well against Bulloch as they only had two hits in the game. Those came from Joyner and from Railee Thomas.
Bulloch scored first with a run in the bottom of the first inning. They added three more in the fourth inning, and then one more in the fifth. RTCA wasn't able to get on the board, as they dropped the game, 5-0, to Bulloch.
This week RTCA was at Montgomery County on Monday after presstime. They will be back in action on Thursday with Pinewood coming to town at 6:00 p.m.
