RTCA Wins Over FPCA
The Lady Crusaders softball team of Robert Toombs Christian Academy had a tough week as they dropped games to Windsor Academy on Monday and Thomas Jefferson on Tuesday, but they bounced back with a win over FPCA on Wednesday. vs. Windsor
It was one big inning from Windsor that determined the game. The Lady Knights scored six runs in the top of the second inning to jump out to a big early lead. They added a run in the top of the third inning before RTCA scored two in the bottom of the third. That made the score 7-2.
Neither scored any over the rest of the game with Windsor winning 7-2.
Meredith Durden and Leighton Williams each had two hits for RTCA in the game. vs. TJ
Thomas Jefferson put two runs on the board in the bottom of the first inning as they went ahead early, 2-0, on RTCA. That would be all they needed, but they did add another run in the fourth inning.
RTCA had just three hits in the game as they lost to the Lady Jaguars, 3-0. vs. FPCA
RTCA bounced back on Wednesday against a much weaker FPCA team. RTCA scored two runs in the first inning, and then plated eight runs in the second inning to take a commanding lead, 10-0.
The Lady Crusaders added six more runs in the third inning as they won the game by the run rule, 16-0.
Williams and Railee Thomas led the team with 3 RBI's each. Maddie Joyner, Bree Wimberly, and Arlie Gooden each drove in two runs.
RTCA was at David Emanuel on Tuesday of this week after presstime. They will be back in action on Thursday at home against Thomas Jefferson at 6:00 p.m.
