TCHS Volleyball Take 3 Matches

On Monday of last week, the Toombs County High School Lady NetDawgs volleyball team continued in their winning ways in Brantley County. They then added wins over Beach and Long County on Thursday as they improved their record to 11-5 overall and 4-2 in Area play. vs. Brantley

The JV squad prevailed in three sets (2522, 17-25, 15-10), extending their winning sreak to six matches and improving their overall record to 6-2. Meanwhile, the Varsity squad showcased their prowess by clinching victory in four sets (25-21, 25-18, 21-25, 27-25). With this win, their overall standing sits at 9-5, and they now enjoy a four-match winning streak in regional play with a 4-2 record.

For the JV team, the spotlight was on Emma Wright, Alivia Patrick, and Gracie Davila, thanks to their impeccable serving. Emma showcased 10 service points and 4 aces, while Alivia and Gracie contributed 7 SPs each, with Alivia recording 4 aces and Gracie netting 3. Additionally, Emma led in assists with 4, and Alivia topped the kills with 5. A commendable performance indeed.

The Varsity game was a collective effort. Anabel Cruz was a standout with 20 SPs, 10 aces, and 12 assists. Emma Wright delivered 13 SPs, 3 aces, and 3 digs. Arianna Hill impressed with 9 SPs, 5 aces, 9 kills, and 2 digs, while Scarlett Stanley tallied 7 SPs, 2 aces, and 6 digs. Anna Patrick showcased her skills with 5 SPs, 2 aces, 2 blocks, a dig, and 9 kills. Makayla Brewton’s performance could be encapsulated as “three’s were wild” – she achieved 3 SPs, 3 digs, and 3 Kills. vs. Beach

Toombs swept the Beach on Thursday on the road. They took the first match 25-14. and then won in the second match, 25-18. That gave Toombs the win.

Hill came up with 6 kills to lead the way with Brewton added 5, and Patrick 4. On the service side, it was Wright with 4 aces and 10 points with Anabel Cruz adding 3 aces and 7 points. vs. Long

Also on Thursday, Toombs rolled to a two set win over Long County. Toombs won the first match 25-11, and then took the second match 25-14 to secure the victory.

Patrick was the top with 8 kills in the match. Stanley served well with 5 aces to go with 11 points, while Cruz added 5 aces and 9 points on the day.

This week Toombs hosted Savannah Arts on Monday and then hosted Burke County and Bryan County on Tuesday, all after presstime. They will be back in action on the road on Thursday as they face off with Jenkins and Long County with the first match at 5:00 p.m.
