Bobcats Defeat Vikings
The Vikings football team of Treutlen County High School were at Dooly County last week. They fell behind early and were not able to come back as they fell to the Bobcats, 26-12.
Dooly scored the first touchdown of the game with just over a minute to go in the first quarter on a 20-yard pass play. They added the extra point to take a 7-0 lead over the Vikings. Dooly added to their lead with six minutes left in the first half ona 45-yard passing touchdown. They missed the extra point, but were on top 13-0.
The Bobcats scored one more time before the end of the first half, this time on a 3-yard run. They made the PAT to take a 20-0 lead into halftime.
The Vikings capped off a drive in the third quarter with a 1-yard run by Roderick Fuller with nine minutes on the clock. They went for two but did not get it as they trailed 20-6.
Dolly extended their lead early in the fourth quarter on a 9-yard touchdown run. They missed the extra point, but now led 26-6.
The Vikings scored on a 23-yard pass from Cooper Brantley with six minutes left in the game. They missed the PAT, and the score was 26-12.
Neither team got into the end zone over the final several minutes of the game as Dooly took the win by that score.
Treutlen is off this week and will get back to action next week against Hawkinsville at home.
