VHS Closes On 11 Game Region Streak
The Vidalia High School Indians softball team took on Emanuel County Institute and Brantley County last week. VHS fell to ECI on Monday, but they bounced back with a Region win over Brantley on Tuesday. They then got a win over Pierce County on Wednesday to wrap up the regular season. vs. ECI ECI got on the board first with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. ECI added two more in the second inning to take a 4-0 lead over VHS.
Vidalia got on the board in the top of the fourth inning with three runs to close the lead to 4-3, but ECI answered in the bottom of the frame with five more runs to push their lead to 9-3.
Vidalia closed it to 9-6 in the top of the fifth inning, but two more from ECI made it 11-6 heading to the sixth. VHS plated a run in the sixth, but that was as close as they got as ECI won the game 11- 7. vs. Brantley
Vidalia broke the game open in the bottom of the first inning with seven runs and never looked back against the Herons. The score was 10-0 after two innings, with VHS well out in front.
Brantley scored a run in the top of the third inning, but two more from VHS in the bottom half gave the Indians a 12-1 lead.
VHS took the win over Brantley 12- 1. vs. Pierce In Blackshear on Wednesday, Vidalia fought their way to another Region win to close out the regular season. Vidalia led the game 2-0 after the first inning, and pushed that lead to 4-0 in the second.

VHS kept them off the board in the seventh to win the game by that score.
Super Regional
The Vidalia Lady Indians will open up postseason play on Wednesday when they host a GHSA Class AA State Super Regional. The Lady Indians, who captured the Region 3AA Championship after winning 11 straight Region games, will face Central of Macon, the number four seed from Region 2AA, at 1:00 p.m. That game will be followed by Washington County vs. Dodge County at 3:00 p.m.
The losers of Game 1 and Game 2 will meet at 5:00 p,m., with the winners of Game 1 and 2 meeting in the nightcap at 7:00 p.m. The action resumes on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. with an elimination game, which will be followed by the winner of the elimination game facing the winner of Game 4 at 4:00 p.m. and the if necessary at 6:00 p.m.
