Forty Montgomery County Cloverleaf 4-H’ers, 8 teen leaders, and 5 adult leaders made their way to Lyons on Saturday, November 18, for the Lyons Area District Project Achievement competition. A total of 10 counties brought approximately 203 Cloverleaf 4-H’ers to the competition.

According to Georgia 4-H, District Project Achievement (DPA) empowers young people with skills for a lifetime. Students choose a project area of interest, research the topic, and write and present a presentation. 4-H’ers develop leadership, creativity, public speaking, record keeping, and other skills. As students become older, a record keeping component that promotes independent thinking, research and implementation is added.

Of the 40 competing 4-H’ers, 14 received 1st place honors in their respective categories, while 11 took home 2nd place. Four 4-H’ers placed 3rd, and 6 received honorable mention in their project area. Montgomery County 4-H received 2 program awards: 1st place in highest percentage of participation and 2nd place for most participants overall. Isaac Nichols was the winner of a $100 4-H camp scholarship.

Competing 4-H’ers were Aniyah Banks, A’yanna Banks, Kinley Barber, Alice Braddy, John Braddy, Ameliyah Brown, Kinley Cook, Breana Flores, Rylan Fraser, Chasity Ferguson, Jennifer Garcia, Albree Glisson, Jaxon Grier, Ayla Hardeman, Jayley Henry, Joshua Hong, David Hopkins, Zayla Jackson, Jaxton Kellam, Lonnie Lanier, Monica Lugo, Maliyah Martin, Zelina Mendez, Jedaiah Michael, Shaan Momin, Isaac Nichols, Michael Nobles, Maggie Palmer, Kailee Phillips, Diego Ramirez, Jonathan Ramirez, Andrea Salinas, Leslie Sanchez, Isaac Serrano, Gracie Sikes, Macee Sikes, Italy Thornton, Kennadi Troupe, Taylor Troupe, and Bryleigh Willis.
