VHS Basketball Gets Wins
The Vidalia High School Indians basketball teams took on Montgomery County and ECI last week. The Lady In – dians fell to MCHS but bounced back with a win over ECI, while the boys took wins in both of their contests.
Girls vs. MCHS
The Lady Indians ran into a buzzsaw against the Lady Eagles, who are currently ranked #4 in the state in their division. MCHS led 20-5 at the end of the first quarter, and they pushed that lead to 33-10 at halftime.
MCHS was on top 49-17 heading to the fourth quarter, with the Lady Eagles winning the game 61-25.
Boys vs. MCHS
It was a very slow start for both teams as the offenses could not get shots to fall. But by the midway of the second quarter, the Indians had pulled out to a 24-10 lead.
Vidalia was on top 31-16 in the third, and increased the lead to 4521 by the end of the pe- riod. VHS took the win over the Eagles 66-31.
vs. ECI
On Saturday the In –
dians won on the road in Twin City. The Lady In dians won their game 48– 32 over the Lady Bull – dogs. The VHS boys won 75-19 as they ran away with their win.
The Lady Indians are 3-2 on the season and the boys are 4-1.
This week the Indians hosted Toombs County after presstime on Tuesday. VHS will host Pierce County on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and then will host Montgomery County on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
