Yard of the Month Awards Celebrate Christmas Decorations

This month, the City of Lyons’s Yard of the Month award celebrated those who went above and beyond in decorating their homes for the Christmas season.

Both Preston Clifton, who has lived at 331 McDilda Drive for 9 years, and Velma Gaffney, who has lived at 118 South Monroe Street for 10 years, were recognized for their efforts in spreading Christmas cheer with their yard decorations. The awardees were given signs to post in their yard commemorating the honor, as well as gift certificates, as a “thank you” for keeping their property neat and festive.

REMEMBERING THE REASON FOR THE SEASON – Preston Clifton takes pride in decorating his home for Christmas, especially in showcasing his “Happy Birthday Jesus” sign to remind others of the reason for the holiday.
