RTCA Splits With Twiggs and Memorial
The Robert Toombs Christian Academy Crusaders basketball teams took on Twiggs Academy and Memorial Day last week. vs. Twiggs
The Lady Crusaders fell in a close battle to Twiggs. RTCA fought till the end, but lost to Twiggs 46-44.
The boys came back in the second game of the night to take an easy win. They jumped out to a big lead and never looked back on the way to a 7526 victory.
Girls vs. Memorial
The Lady Crusaders rolled to a win over the Lady Matadors of Memorial in Savannah on Friday night. RTCA blew the game open early as they took a 26-5 lead in the first quarter. They extended that lead in the second to 42-15.
RTCA came out of halftime and pulled away to lead 64-21 by the end of the third quarter. RTCA went on to win the game by the score of 66– 27.
Boys vs. Memorial
It was a tough loss for RTCA as they tried to make a run in the fourth quarter to overtake a big Memorial lead.
In the first quarter of the game, the two teams kept it close and were tied 12-12 at the buzzer. In the second Memorial looked like they were taking control as they outscored RTCA, 18-9. That put Memorial on top 3021 heading to halftime.
In the third quarter, the Matadors extended their lead to 42-26, and it appeared like they had the game in hand. But in the fourth, RTCA came charging back, outscoring Memorial 19-8, but they came up short, falling 5045 to the Matadors.
The Lady Crusaders are now 5-10 on the year and are 1-1 in Region play. The boys are 6-7 on the season and are also 1-1 in the Region. This week RTCA hosts Thomas Jefferson on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and then will be at home against Twiggs Academy on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
