Bre w t o n – Pa r k e r Women’s Wrestling took on the Warrior Duals hosted by Indiana Tech on Friday Night and went 3-2 in their five duals.

Vs. Campbellsville

The Lady Barons started the day with a match against No. 9 Campbellsville (Ky.).

At the 101-weight class, Elora Waterman was dropped in a 7-6 decision to No. 19 Riley Banyas to fall back 3-1. Tashayla West followed in the 109-divison and fell in 2:24 to Gabrielle Medeiros for BPC to go down 8-1.

Jamesa Robinson fell in a 10-0 tech fall to No. 5 Icart Galumette in the 116-pound division, before BPC gave up a forfeit loss at 123 and Kathleen Fisher was pinned in 1:05 by No. 16 Olivia Messerly to put the Lady Barons in a 22-1 deficit. Madisyn Blackburn was dropped by No. 12 Gabriella Perez in a 10-0 tech fall.

Brewton-Packer had to forfeit the last four weight class to Campbellsville, losing 46-1 in the first dual of the day.

Vs. Tiffin (Ohio)

Starting at 101, Waterman picked up a forfeit win to put the Lady Barons up 5-0. Jaelynn Sunseri followed in the 109-pound division and was dropped in a 11-0 tech fall to Jenavi Alejandro.

BPC picked up a forfeit win at 116, before Robinson (123), Fisher (130), and Blackburn (136) picked up 10-0 tech falls to give the Lady Barons a 22-4 lead. Unfortunately, it was not enough, as BPC loss 24-22 after giving up forfeits in the last four weight classes.

Vs. Rochester (Mich.)

Bre w t o n – Pa r k e r started the dual with Rochester picking up forfeit wins to take a 15-0 lead. Robinson had the first match of the dual in the 123-pound weight class and took down Kylie Berringer in a 10-0 tech fall. Fisher followed with a 10-0 tech fall of her own over Alexandria Sparks to put the Lady Barons up 23-0.

Blackburn gathered another forfeit win at 136, before BPC gave up forfeits in the 143- and 155-pound weight classes to end the dual 28-10 in Brewton-Parkers favor.

Vs. (RV) St. Andrews Waterman and Tashayla West started the dual gathering to forfeit wins for BPC, before Robinson picked up a 20 second fall over Jillian Ellis to give the Lady Barons a 15-0 lead. Blackburn produced a 14-3 tech fall over Markia Mingo-Strain at 136, after Brewton-Parker got another forfeit at 130 to secure a 24-1 win for BPC.

Vs. (RV) Lourdes

BPC started the dual, dropping the match at 101, as Waterman fell in a 7-2 decision to Shanna Morris. West (109) and Sunseri (116) picked up forfeit wins, before Robinson gathered a 10-0 tech fall over Maria Hoffman to put the Lady Barons ahead 15-3.

Fisher was dropped by Kelcey Dew in a 10-0 tech fall and was followed by a 11-0 tech fall from Blackburn over Phylicia Sudario. BPC had to give up forfeits at 143 and 191 but pulled out a 19-17 win over Lourdes.

Saturday

Bre w t o n – Pa r k e r Women’s Wrestling had five athletes compete in the Warrior Open hosted by Indiana Tech on Saturday.

Jamesa Robinson highlighted the day, taking fourth place in the 116-pound weight class. Robinson started the day with a 2-1 decision win over Alesandra Burgos (unattached), before picking up a 2:11 fall over Providence’s (Mont.) Ari-

eana Arias. In the quarterfinal match, Robinson was dropped by Ariana Martinez of Life (Ga.) in an 8-3 decision, before picking up an 11-0 tech fall over Life’s Miranda Dibendetto. Robinson gathered a forfeit win to make it to the thirdplace match. In the match, Robinson faced Martinez from Life again, this time losing in a 9-2 decision.

Jaelynn Sunseri started the day with two pins in the 109-pound weight class. In the first round, Sunseri dropped Clesete Welch from Alma (Mich.) in 1:30, before pinning Bella Savage from Cumberlands (Ky.) in 2:48.

In the third match of the day, Sunseri took a 10-0 tech fall loss from Paige Morales of Providence, before finishing the day losing to Gracie Eliott from the Cumberlands in a 1:16 fall.

In the 130-pound division, Kathleen Fisher went 2-2 on the day. Fisher started the day losing in a 10-0 tech fall to Taina Fernadez (unattached), before bouncing back with a 1:27 pin against Cumberlands’ Camrie Cunningham and a 2:42 fall against Zoe Hanley from Lourdes. Fisher ended the day by dropping the final match in a 3:44 fall to Alexis Lazar (Unattached).

Elora Waterman and Tashayla West also competed but did not score any points on the day.

BPC Women’s Wrestling will compete next at a tri-match with Life (Ga.) and Indiana Tech on Saturday, February 10.
