Women’s Track & Field Competes at the Florida Collegiate Invitational

Brewton-Parker College Women’s Track and Field continued their season with a trip to the Florida Collegiate Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
How It Happened | Day One
Day one was highlighted by a fourth-place finish in the long jump from A’Shanti Surrey with a mark of 5.03 meters.
In the rest of the field events, Naomi Taake completed an 8.47-meter throw for a 20th-place finish and was followed by a 22nd-place finish from Taylor Swinson with a 7.76-meter toss.
On the track, Karen Garcia ran a 6:00.11 in the 1-mile run for 22nd place and took eighth place in the 1,000 meters with a 3:26.94. In the 600 meters, Anders Ignoffo picked up a 14th-place finish with a time of 2:28.46.
Mylan Tanner put up a time of 28.68 seconds in the 200 meters for 37th place and was followed by Keyla Young (40th, 28.68 seconds) and Aaliyah Allen (44th, 29.99 Seconds) to end day one.
How It Happened | Day Two
Surrey highlighted day two with a 10.48-meter jump for fourth place in the triple jump.
In the shot put, Taake gathered 19th place with a throw of 8.41m and was followed by Swinson in 27th with a throw of 6.51m.
Garcia started the day on the track for the Lady Barons in the 800 meters, picking up 23rd place with a time of 2:38.79, before running a 12:14.49 in the 3,000 meters for 18th place later in the day.
Young produced an 8.38 second 60-meter for 31st place, and was followed by a 39th-place finish from Allen with a time of 8.69 seconds. In the 400 meters, Tanner ran a 1:06.41 for 26th place.
