Lady Eagles Win 4 More
It was a busy final week of the regular season for the Montgomery County High School basketball teams. They faced off with Claxton on Tuesday, were at Emanuel County Institute on Thursday, traveled to Mc-Intosh County Academy on Friday, and then wrapped up the week at home on Saturday against Treutlen. The Lady Eagles won all four of their games to finish the season with a record of 24-1, and 7-1 in Region play. The boys won only one of their games as they finished the season with a record of 7-18 and 3-7 in Region action.
Girls vs. Claxton
The Lady Eagles took a 14-10 lead in the first quarter of the game and then broke it open in the second as they outscored the Lady Tigers, 21-9. That gave MCHS a 35-19 lead at halftime.
In the third, MCHS extended their lead to 49-28, and went on to win the game, 61- 44. MCHS had three girls in double figures with Marley Bell leading the way with 20 points, Amire Banks added 19, and Erin Adams scored 10 in the win.
Boys vs. Claxton
The MCHS boys got their only win of the week as they defeated Claxton in a very close game. It came down to the wire as the Eagles pulled out a 72-71 victory over the Tigers.
Girls vs. ECI
The Lady Eagles were in front 15-7 by the end of the first quarter and were never really challenged in the game. ECI did close in on the lead in the second quarter to make the halftime score, 24-20, but that was as close as they got.
In the third, the teams matched each other to send the game to the fourth with MCHS still in front, 36-32. In the fourth, the Eagles extended their lead and took the win, 54-43.
Banks led the Eagles with 22 points, with Bell adding 15 in the win.
Boys vs. ECI
It was another onepoint game for the Eagles, but this time they were on the losing side of the score. ECI pulled out the win over MCHS, 63- 62.
Girls vs. MCA
The Lady Eagles again rolled to an easy win as they beat the Lady Buccs down in Darien. By the end of the first quarter, the game had already been decided with MCHS holding a 28-4 lead. The Eagles slowed their pace in the second, but held a 4010 lead at halftime.

Lady Eagles pushed their lead to 57-18, and they took the win, 61-31.
Banks led MCHS with 19 points, Bell added 18, and Trinity Wideman scored 9 in the win.
Boys vs. MCA
The MCHS boys struggled to get the offense going against the Buccaneers on Friday night. They fell behind 22-7 in the first and were down 39-11 by halftime.
In the third, MCA pushed their lead to 5518, and they took the win, 65- 26.
Girls vs. Treutlen
The Lady Eagles closed out the regular season with a big win over rivals Treutlen on Saturday in Mt. Vernon. MCHS had an easy 14-4 lead in the first, and by halftime they were on top 29-12.
MCHS continued to pull away in the second half of the game. They led 49-22 at the end of the third and went on to win the game, 65-23.
Bell had a big game as she scored 34 points for MCHS. Banks added 16 for the Lady Eagles.
Boys vs. Treutlen
It was a tough game for the MCHS boys as Treutlen rolled to the win. The Vikings won the game 102-67 over the Eagles.
This week the MCHS boys played ECI on Tuesday after presstime in the Region Tournament. The Lady Eagles will play on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. with their opponent to be determined.
