Nobles Signs With The Citadel
On Wednesday of last week at Toombs County High School on National Signing Day, Brock Nobles signed his letter of intent to play football for The Citadel in Charleston, SC. The Citadel is an NCAA Division I FCS school that plays in the Southern Conference.
Nobles said, “The Citadel is just an amazing school. It is a Christian school at heart, and that fits me. The facilities are great, the coaches were all really nice, the players were great to me, but I know that I am going to have to work hard for this opportunity. I have to thank my family, all of my coaches, and all of my teammates for helping get to this point today.”
His mother Tabatha added, “We are just overwhelmed with joy for him. He has had a lifelong dream to play football in college and it is coming true. It has not always been an easy road, it has been paved with prayer, but we are so excited for him. The Citadel was the best offer that he got and with the ROTC background it is going to be different, but he loves what they stand for; honor, duty, respect, and he is ready.”
TCHS Head Coach Buddy Martin stated, “We are going to miss Brock. He has been a staple for us on the front line for four years. This is a great opportunity and I think The Citadel is a great fit for him. He is a young man that prides himself on disciple, integrity, work ethic, loyalty, and everything that they stand for. He is still going to be a Bulldog there, and I know they are really excited to get him there. I think that he will make an impact there and we are so proud of Brock.”
