RTCA Over Piedmont
Robert Toombs Christian Academy's basketball teams closed out the regular season last week. The boys dropped a game to First Presbyterian Christian Academy, but bounced back with a win over Piedmont Academy. The Lady Crusaders fell in their game with Piedmont.
Boys vs. FPCA
The boys took on FPCA on Tuesday night of last week and lost to the Highlanders. FPCA held a 16-14 lead at the end of the first quarter, but in the second, they pulled away to lead at halftime, 38-28.
RTCA kept pace in the third, but were trailing 65-52 heading to the fourth. FPCA took the win over RTCA, 84-72.
Girls vs. Piedmont
The Lady Crusaders never could get the offense going against the tough defense of the Lady Cougars. Piedmont held a 15-4 lead in the first quarter, and extended that to 25-8 by halftime.
In the third, the Cougars led 44-10, and they took the win over RTCA, 46- 19.
Boys vs. Piedmont
The RTCA boys won their game over Piedmont easily. They posted 20 points in the first and by halftime had put 39 points on the board. RTCA cruised to a 64-38 win over the Cougars.
This week RTCA will host the Region Tournament. The boys play on Thursday against Memorial Day at 7:00 p.m. The Lady Crusaders will play on Friday at 5:30 p.m. against the winner of the Memorial Day vs. Twiggs Academy game.
