VHS Boys Close With 2 Wins

The Vidalia High School Indians basketball teams closed out the regular season with games against Tattnall County and Appling County. The Lady Indians fell in both of their games, but the boys won both of their games.

Girls vs. Tattnall

The Lady Indians dropped a close game to the Lady Warriors on Tuesday of last week. VHS gave it their all but fell short, 60-58, to Tattnall.

VHS was led by Hannah Nichols with 17 points, Cristal Franklin added 12, and Mischa Wardlaw scored 8 in the loss.

Boys vs. Tattnall

The VHS boys won a low scoring game against the Warriors. Vidalia took the win, 41-33. VHS was led by Jayon Coleman with 12 points.

Girls vs. Appling

The Lady Indians fell behind 13-3 in the first, and trailed the Lady Pirates 24-7 at halftime. Appling went on to win the game over VHS, 60-34.

VHS was led by Nichols with 12 points.

Boys vs. Appling

The Indians won in dominating fashion on Friday night defeating Appling County by the score of 98-36. The win ends the regular season with the Indians finishing as a number two seed.

VHS was led on the night by Cori Mincey with 24 points, Jacaree Washington and Jerryon Roundtree each scored 12 points, and Coleman posted 9 in the win.

The Lady Indians took on Appling County in the Region Tournament on Tuesday after presstime and will need a win to advance. Vidalia's boys will play Thursday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. in the Region Tournament with their opponent to be determined. The game will be at Toombs County High School.
