VHS Tennis Against Johnson

The Vidalia High School boys' tennis team remains undefeated at 4-0 after defeating Johnson County in an extremely close, nonregion match last week, 3-2.
Boys
At 1st Singles, Sophomore Caleb Beck came from behind to win in a tie-breaker set 11-9. Caleb dropped his first set, which also required a tie-breaker, 4-7. He won the second set 6-3 and finished the match winning another tie-breaker set 11-9.
Jameson Rolen and Larsen Carter at 1st doubles won 6-4, 6-1. Vidalia’s final win that sealed the victory came at 3rd Singles from Freshman Stone Smith, who won 6-0, 6-1.
Girls
The girls’ team fought well and had many close sets, but ended up losing 1-4. Their victory came from 2nd Doubles, Junior Isabella Bloxham and Freshman Luz Alonzo-Resendiz. Bloxham and Alonzo-Resendiz lost their first set but came back to win the second set 6-4. They won their tie-breaker set 10-7.
The teams' next match is a home match scheduled for Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. Vidalia will face the Tigers from Metter in another non-region face-off.
