Your Mind

Got a complaint? Got a compliment? Call Your Mind On Line at 537-6397 and let us know what’s on your mind. Quotes are printed exactly as they are called in and are not necessarily factual, but rather, callers’ opinions. Libelous, slanderous, personal attacks, and unfounded accusatory or lengthy comments will not be printed. Two calls per week per caller, and calls should not exceed 30 seconds, please.

“You know, 21st century thinking is all wrong. Instead of trying to make the world perfect for people (which, of course, is impossible), we should be preparing people, especially the young, to function as well as possible in an imperfect world. Afaith-based philosophy (religion) can handle that without the need for a therapist.”

“PLEASE let the government shut down. Then maybe we could cut it back to reasonable size; get rid of all those unnecessary, moneywasting departments; and give Americans back our Constitutional freedoms. They keep threatening so that we will give in, again and again. Let’s call them on it!”

“How come I keep hearing about this Eddie B concert that Toombs County Prevention Treatment Recovery is putting on but there’s no flyers or banners about it. Are they going to have the concert?”

“I say a loud amen to last week’s Your Mind on Line. Nikki Haley, please just give up. A loud amen to that.”

“I get that Vidalia isn’t big enough for a Publix or a Kroger, but could we get an Ingall’s please instead of Food Lion please?”

“I wish these people that drive vehicles, young and old, would remember, or learn, what that arm is beside the steering wheel. It’s to turn on a blinker to let traffic know your intentions before you get to where you’re going to turn. Up for right, down for left. Please remember, use your turn signals.”

“California proudly announces its increase in minimum wage to $20 per hour, and then it mentions its expectation that this will cause companies to automate more. So a few workers will get an increase in wages while many workers will no longer have jobs because companies are creating machines to do their work. Who doesn’t see this as a BAD thing for workers?”
