Every employee at Southeastern Technical College recently donated or pledged to donate to the STC Foundation during the college’s annual Raising Interest and Donations for Education (RIDE) campaign.
On Tuesday, February 27, the college announced that the campaign, which spanned the month of February, had a 100% participation rate from the institution’s employees. According to STC Foundation Executive Director Blythe Wilcox, this accom plishment is nothing new, as 100% of the staff has contributed to the Foundation for the past several
years. “The STC Foundation kicks off each year with its Employee Campaign because the employees are such an integral part of the Foundation’s annual fundraising,” Wilcox explained. “In 2023, the donations received from STC employees made up 10% of the total funds raised for the year. The employees see first-hand the difference the STC Foundation makes in the lives of our students through scholarships, emergency assistance, and other forms of support.” There is a total of $47,500 in scholarships given to students through the STC Foundation, as the nonprofit organization aims to invest in the students, faculty, and staff of Southeastern Technical College to build stronger communities and a better Georgia for Candler, Emanuel, Jenkins, Johnson, Montgomery, Tattnall, Toombs, and Treutlen counties. In addition to this, the Foundation works to provide the opportunity for dual enrollment to local high school students, supports the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) and Rick Perkins Award programs, backs funding for General Education Degree (GED) testing, and more.
