VHA Baseball Playing Well

It has been a solid start to the baseball season for the Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles. Last week they picked up a win over GHSA 4A school Mt. Zion, and then ended a nonconference game in a tie with GIAA opponent Frederica Academy. vs. Mt. Zion

Freshman Trevor White had a big day at the plate for VHA as he posted two hits, but drove in 5 runs for the Eagles.

Heritage took the early lead with a run in the top of the first inning, but they then added six more in the second to jump out to a 7-0 lead. Heritage scored six more in the third inning and two in the fourth to take a 15-0 lead over the Bulldogs of Mt. Zion.

The Bulldogs did manage to plate two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, but it was not enough as Heritage took the win by the run rule.

Maddyx Herrin also picked up 2 hits for VHA. Gree Posey got the win on the mound for the Eagles. vs. Frederica

It was a defensive battle between the Eagles and the Knights of Frederica. There were a total of 14 hits in the game, but just two runs were scored between the two teams. Dalton Price went five innings for VHA with 7 strikeouts, and Jake Adams went two innings with 3 strikeouts.

VHA picked up a run in the bottom of the third inning with Frederica, tying the game in the top of the fourth at 1-1. Those were the only runs scored, and at the end of the seventh inning the game was called and ended in the 1-1 tie.

This week the Eagles hosted Gatewood Academy on Monday and were at East Laurens on Tuesday after presstime. They will not be back on the diamond until next week.
