Blount Recognized for Contributions to Vidalia Housing Authority

At the Board Meeting of the Housing Authority of the City of Vidalia, held February 29, Mr. Ray Blount was honored for his service as Vice-Chairman and Commissioner for over 15 years. Mr. Blount decided not to renew his five-year term with the Housing Authority so that he could direct more of his focus on his wonderful family.

During his tenure, Mr. Blount helped the Housing Authority secure over seven million dollars to help serve over 1,050 low income families in the city of Vidalia. He was instrumental in helping the Authority replace and renovate its entire infrastructure, while ensuring those less fortunate had a decent, safe, and sanitary place to live. Mr. Blount provided invaluable leadership and the Authority will always be indebted for his contributions.
