Local Gymnasts Take On Athens

It was Saturday in Athens… and the stars were not on a football field but inside the classic center, as hundreds of gymnasts from over the United States compete in the Annual Made In The USA 2024 Gymnastics Competition on Sunday, February 9.
Among those, 35 local gymnasts of Team Vidalia of Vidalia Gymnastics & Cheer traveled to Dawg Country to attend the invitational hosted by Rockdale Gymnastics. The annual competition helps military families by not only raising awareness, but also providing support for The Wounded Warrior Project and The Fisher House. These two fantastic causes are dedicated to the support of those who give and sacrifice so much for our very way of life and our liberty. Several teammates made a weekend of their time in the Classic City by watching the Gym Dawgs Gymnastics Team take on LSU Friday night.
Although the gymnasts that make up Team Vidalia train year round; the official start date for the 2023-2024 season began back in August 2023 and those 35 girls chosen to represent VGC will train and compete through July 2024. Gymnastics is a sport that requires its athletes to train year round in order to maintain and build strength, flexibility, confidence and body awareness. The rate of development of each individual gymnast determines their competitive skill level each year.
This year's Team Vidalia is made up of the following competitive gymnasts: Excel Platinum/ Pink: Lynzie Dasher; Excel Gold/ Pink: Annalee Belew, Anzley Copeland, Calleigh Bell, Emmakate Lindsey, Jacey Owen, Maycee Guin, and Teagan Allen; Level Three/ Blue: Adley Hall, Bailey Brown, Braylin Cox, Brooke Owens, Hadley Hobbs, Heidigrace Miles, Kennedy Mcintryre, Mack Lewis, and Piper Lockley; Level Two/Purple: Arianna Perry, Blythe Kirby, Delaney Morris, Ella Bell, Maekayla Williams, Nataleigh Chambers, Olivia Milligan, Raylee Weinberg, and Savannah Alvarez; and Level One/Yellow: Annakate Maldonado, Brecklyn Bridges, Bri Pech, Emrie Carson Smith, Kelsea Carroll, Kylee Rodriguez, Kynslie Fitzgerald, Malani Coronel, and Sydney Nicole Black.
