On February 19, Cheer Vidalia of Vidalia Gymnastics and Cheer, competed in their first cheer competition of the season in Jacksonville, Florida, at a Worldwide Spirit Association competition.
The competition was held at Jacksonville University, and Cheer Vidalia started off their season with a bang. They brought home a first place win for our area All-Star Cheerleaders.
Coach Madison Durrence commented, 'I was proud of the performance that was shown today. This was the first competition of the season and for many of these girls, it's the first time competing on a scale this big!” Coach Maddie Adams continues, “This is what our program is about, introducing elementary/ middle school girls to the all-star competitive cheer world to better prepare them for high school cheer. We have so much talent in our area and being able to expose the girls to big competitions produces better athletes for our local area schools.” The coaches are excited to see how this group of girls will grow throughout the rest of the season and for years to come.
Cheer Vidalia will have only two weeks to get back into the gym to work before their next competition that will be in Savannah.
