Crusaders Get Two Wins
The Crusader baseball team of Robert Toombs Christian Academy picked up two wins last week as they defeated Twiggs Academy and Edmund Burke Academy. RTCA rolled in the game over Twiggs and beat EBA by one run. vs. Twiggs
It was all RTCA against Twiggs. They jumped out with a big first inning and rolled to a run rule win in three innings.
The scoring started on a hit by Hayden Kight, who drove in a run. Gage Brantley singled in a run and then an error made it 3-0. Landon Sauls was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to add a run, and then Brody Randall drove in two runs with a single. Tripp Durden followed that with a two-RBI single, and Kight drove in another run with a single. Brantley followed with another RBI single and Rayce Sharpe hit in a run. The final run came on a hit by Blake Durden as RTCA led 12-0 after the first inning.
In the second, RTCA added five more runs to push their lead to 17-0 over Twiggs. RTCA held in the top of the third inning to win the game by the run rule, 17-0. vs. EBA
In the top of the second inning, RTCA got on the board first as Durden drove in a run with a double. They added another run to take an early 2-0 lead. RTCA plated two more runs in the third inning as they went ahead 4-0 on EBA.
EBA scored a run in the bottom of the third inning and then added one in the fifth inning to close the lead to 4-2. RTCA scored one more in the top of the sixth inning to push the lead to 5-2.
EBA plated one in the bottom of the sixth inning, and then RTCA held them to one run in the seventh inning as the Crusaders took the win, 5-4.
RTCA will have this week off for Spring Break and will be back in action next week in a Region series with FPCA. RTCA is currently 3-3 on the year.
