Elder John Turner

Elder John Turner, age 90, died on March 25, 2024, at Oxley Nursing Home in Lyons.

Mr. Turner was a native of Nelson, VA, spent his early years in Brooklyn, NY, and later moved to Georgia. He was employed with Lark Builders until he retired. He accepted Christ at Live Oak C.O.G.I.C. and was pastor at Miracle Temple C.O.G.I.C. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Louise Giles Turner; his wife, Grace Turner; 1 daughter, Wanda Wimberly; 1 son, Christopher Turner; 2 brothers, Charles Turner, Jr., and Samuel Turner; and 2 sisters, Marylin Turner and Kathleen Turner.

Survivors include 1 daughter, Marcha Turner, Vidalia; 1 son, James Alvin, New York; 1 goddaughter, Florene Wesley, Vidalia; 2 grandchildren, Latoya (Marvin) Patrick, Simpsonville, SC, and Deion Wimberly, Greer, SC; 2 great-grandchildren, Marquez Brown, Louisville, KY, and Makya Jackson, Simpsonville; 1 sister-inlaw, Pastor Alice Braddy, Atlanta; and many other relatives and friends.
