MCHS Soccer Wins Three

The Montgomery County High School soccer teams took on Treutlen County and Irwin County last week. The boys picked up two wins to improve their overall record to 6-6 and 5-3 in the Region while the Lady Eagles defeated Treutlen and tied with Irwin as they are now 7-7-1 on the year and 5-5 in the Region.

Girls vs. Treutlen

In a contentious game between the Lady Eagles and the Lady Vikings, MCHS got goals from Giselle Rodriguez and Citlali Hernandez-Gonzalez as they won the game 2-1 over the Lady Vikings. Shevany Contreras picked up just three saves in goal for MCHS, but it was enough for the win.

Boys vs. Treutlen

The MCHS boys rolled to a win over the Vikings. Montgomery scored two goals in the first half and then added four more in the second half to win the game 6-0 over Treutlen.

Girls vs. Irwin

The Lady Eagles scored two goals on the day as Hernandez-Gonzalez and Tulsi Patel each found the back of the net. Irwin County also scored two goals in the game, and with it being a nonregion game, it was called at a tie, 2-2.

Boys vs. Treutlen

The Eagles pulled away with a win over the Indians of Irwin. MCHS won the game 6-3.

MCHS will wrap up the regular season next week against Swainsboro.
